Our Materials

We founded Andall on the belief that making fine jewelry doesn’t have to come at the cost of our values, our communities or our planet. We believe true sustainability is about transparently addressing our impacts on the environment and the people in our ecosystem.

For that reason, we strive to support fairly mined materials that support communities relying on the sector. Traceability is vital because it helps us to authenticate the materials and improve the social and environmental impacts of our pieces. As we grow globally and expand our networks, our ultimate goal is to maximize the transparency and traceability of our supply chain.

Sterling Silver

925 Sterling Silver is an alloy of silvery containing 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper. To ensure the extra shine and durability, we plate our silver jewelry in rhodium. Rhodium is one of the costliest precious metals due to its rarity. All of our sterling silver pieces are stamped with “925”.

18k Gold Plating

Our 18K Gold plating ensures your items are beautifully protected without having the entire item made of solid gold. With gold being so precious, having a piece of jewelry made of solid gold is not an option for many people. In essence, gold plating allows you to impart all the qualities of gold into pieces without the huge cost.

Gold does not tarnish, rust, corrode and is hypoallergenic. Due to these great qualities, we coat our pieces with 18K Gold to prevent exposure to conditions that may damage the pieces or cause allergic reactions.

We always use 18k gold that is 0.5 microns thick, layered over sterling silver. All of our 18k gold vermeil pieces are stamped with “925”.

Enamel

Enameling is a technique in which a glossy substance, traditionally a type of glass, is applied to the surface of metal or another hard surface. Traditional enamel is glass-based; however, we use cold enamel—also known as epoxy resin enamel—which does not contain glass. This type is far more durable and resistant to chipping that may sometimes occur with daily wear.
